One of my passions is photography, though I tend to focus on landscapes. It is a matter of some amusement in my family that much of the time I seem to take photographs with no people in. This is largely deliberate – and I often have to wait for that moment when everyone has moved moved out of shot.

Photographing The Thames Path
Between 2019 and 2021 I walked the full length of the Thames path from the source in Cirencester, to Dartford Creek. The full account of the walk, along with all photographs and videos can be found here.
Here are what I think are the best photographs I took between the source in Tewkesbury and Henley on Thames.
There are many more between Henley on Thames and The end of the path!
Photographing London
Coming from London myself, I find it a fascinating place to wander around – especially those areas where some of my ancestors lived. The architecture and the scenary are perfect for photography.
I also gained some inspiration from the book Photographing London, by George Johnson.
In 2021 I took a three day photography visit to London…all photographs are pulled together in this 8 minute video.
I also visited in 2023 and 2025. All my photographs are available on the page Photographing London.
Photographing Bosworth Marina
In November 2021 we took the plunge and bought a 46 ft narrowboat. We moor it at Bosworth Marina in Market Bosworth – it is such a tranquil place with lovely people and is also very photogenic.

Photographing On the Canal
Of course, having a narrowboat is about exploring the canals, and we have uploaded several videos of our travels to our YouTube channel and to a page on this website. Here are a few of the best photographs of places we visited.
